Frequently asked questions

Questions about the area: what it is, what is being built and how to get here. And about the directory: where the facts come from and how to take over your page.

What is Slakthusområdet?

Stockholm's old slaughterhouse and meatpacking district in Johanneshov, south of Södermalm and next to Globen. The 1910s halls have become restaurants, concert venues and clubs, and the area is being rebuilt into a neighbourhood with around 3,000 homes and 14,000 workplaces by about 2035 – the first residents moved in in May 2026. Locals call it Slaktis. The directory gathers the businesses in the blocks.

Areas

What is being built in Slakthusområdet right now?

The metro's blue line gets its own station, Slakthusområdet, opening in 2030 – the north entrance at Rökerigatan and the south one at Hallvägen. Arenavägen is being lowered and rebuilt from 2026 to mid-2029. The blocks around the halls are built in phases: the first rentals have been occupied since May 2026, the upper-secondary school opened in August 2026, and office buildings for Haglöfs and Menigo among others are finished in 2026–2027. The Building projects page has the city's full list of phases.

Development

Where do I find housing in Slakthusområdet?

The new builds are let and sold by the developers themselves, the rentals partly through Bostadsförmedlingen – the Housing page here lists the projects with developer, unit count and occupancy, plus Mäklarstatistik's price per square metre for the area. Individual listings are with the estate agents and the property portals, not here.

Housing

How do I get to Slakthusområdet?

Today by the metro's green line to Globen or Gullmarsplan, or by Tvärbanan to Globen – from Globen station it is a few minutes' walk across Arenavägen to Hallvägen. From 2030 the area has its own station on the blue line, eight minutes from T-Centralen, and Globen and Enskede gård close then. By car: Arenavägen is being rebuilt until 2029 but stays open; parking is in the garages at Globen Shopping and the arenas.

What is on in Slakthusområdet?

Concerts and club nights at Fållan, Slaktkyrkan, Hus 7 and Slakthuset in the old halls, and concerts, ice hockey and football at Avicii Arena, Hovet and 3Arena across Arenavägen. The Events page gathers the venues' standing formats and published dates and links to each calendar; the restaurants in the directory are where you eat first.

Events

What is this website?

A directory of restaurants, bars, cafés, venues and clubs in Slakthusområdet in Johanneshov, Stockholm, with opening hours, menus and current offers. The site is run by Eightyfive AB and the businesses update their own information.

Which area does the directory cover?

Slakthusområdet west of Arenavägen and north of Enskedevägen – the halls and blocks around Hallvägen, Hallgränd, Styckmästargatan, Slakthusgatan and Rökerigatan – plus Globenområdet across Arenavägen, where the arenas and the everyday services the blocks still lack are: grocery store, pharmacy, Systembolaget. Gullmarsplan, Blåsut and Enskede gård are outside the directory's area.

Where does the information come from?

Businesses that have claimed their page update it themselves. The other pages are filled from the businesses' own published material — menus are transcribed as they are, with the date of the latest update below the menu.

How do I claim my business page?

Create an account, go to your business page and click "Claim this page". Claims are reviewed manually, and once approved you can edit the page yourself.

What can I change as an owner?

Descriptions in Swedish and English, opening hours, contact details, menus, offers and photos – all through My page.

Why are the opening hours wrong?

Hours come from the businesses themselves or from the most recent public listings. Spotted an error? Claim the page and you can correct it directly.
