Slakthusområdet is the core of the City of Stockholm's Söderstaden: the old slaughterhouse district in Johanneshov is to hold around 3,000 homes and 14,000 workplaces by about 2035, with its own station on the metro's blue line from 2030. The 1910s halls are kept and given new uses while the blocks around them are built.

The town park of the first phase, between the new housing blocks and the metro's south entrance. The front part is open and the rest opens gradually during autumn 2026; landscaping began in June 2025 and the work is carried out entirely emission-free according to the city.
The 1912 market hall for small livestock, designed by Gustaf Wickman, is being restored inside and out into around 1,950 square metres of offices. Haglöfs is leasing 1,400 square metres for its head office and moves in in November 2026 according to the landlord's October 2025 press release.
The blue line's station with its platform 40 metres below ground, two exits and three entrances: the north one in a new office building at Arenavägen/Palmfeltsvägen near Tvärbanan, the south one level with 3Arena on Styckmästargatan with entrances towards Hallvägen and Slakthusgatan. Eight minutes to T-Centralen without changing, 19 escalators, art by Helena Isoz. When the station opens, Globen and Enskede gård close.

Arenavägen is being lowered by up to a metre to meet the surrounding buildings and rebuilt as a city street, with extensive utility works beneath it, according to the city's page on ongoing works. Hallvägen has at the same time been opened all the way to Enskedevägen with a new junction, and the old entrance from Arenavägen to Hallvägen is closed for good.
The 1930s warehouse is opened up with glazed gables and joined to a new building for around 8,500 square metres of offices, a 700 million kronor investment according to the landlord. Menigo moves its head office here in 2027 on around 3,800 square metres, together with Restaurangakademien.
One of the original 1912 Art Nouveau halls, being converted into premises of 550–1,400 square metres with a private balcony over the concerts in Förbindelsehallen, according to the landlord's construction page.
An underground mobility hub of 7,200 square metres with 250 car spaces, bicycle parking, a car pool and a pool of electric cargo bikes, according to Stockholm Parkering's own project page; construction started in autumn 2025 with NCC as contractor. On top, Sisab is to build a primary school – postponed, according to the city, since the pupils are not expected before the 2040s.

The office building over the metro's north entrance: seven floors with 17,000 square metres of lettable space, six office floors of 2,400 square metres each, a restaurant and shops at the base and the station entrance inside the building, according to the landlord's construction page. The city's detailed plan 2D gained legal force in June 2022.

Stockholm University of the Arts moves its whole operation into a new building by 3XN, winner of the 2022 architecture competition, with the first sod cut in June 2026 and a twenty-year lease. The building gets two large theatres, two cinemas, film studios and a circus hall with a 13-metre ceiling, and the school expects around 400 events a year. The block covers close to 36,000 square metres.
On 3 June 2026 the city presented plans for a new hockey arena for around 10,000 spectators to replace Hovet, on either Hovet's own site or the old Söderstadion site where the Söderhov housing plan stood. No construction start year is published. The arena is in Globenområdet, across Arenavägen.
